TN: 2018 Arnot-Roberts Sonoma Coast Syrah

First A-R wine.

Upon opening: stems, and a very grapey, seemingly carbonic influence. I was a little underwhelmed at first - it seemed like a souped-up Gamay wine - but what a difference an hour of air made. Much more savoury and classically Syrah; meaty, peppery, blue-fruited. Great acidity and nice grainy tannins. Young, and I’m sure could do well with a few years cellaring. A wine that very much reflects the values of the people who made it.
