A deep golden colour. The nose is intriguing, showing notes of Turkish delight, spent fireworks, apricot and lavender. The mid-palate is drying out a touch and it has a very salty finish.
Sounds tired? Had an 85 last year that was incredible.
lucky guys.
Enviable!
A mutual friend of ours had a 1978 Montée de Tonnerre reserved for me for later this year, just need to pick a red to bring to lunch that will be worthy of the white…
Sounds similar to an '83 Chapelot I had last year.
Not tired Fu. Atypical and a function of a high botrytis year.
Sounds nice. As an aside, I frequently smell like spent fireworks also.
To me, that “aroma” was often what I found in JF Coche wines. It was not a plus…luckily for my wallet.
“Spent fireworks”- love it and how timely for us in the US. “Turkish delight” also is an intriguing choice of descriptors. Always appreciate your TNs Jeremy.
