Question about this older SQN

Saw this 1995 SQN “Red-Handed” GSM blend for around $2.3K on K&L. Curious as to why it trades in the stratosphere. Seems like 180 case production so not exceedingly rare. The label is pretty cool though.

There’s also a mid-90s $2K SQN Yamhill Pinot…

I know these wines are pricey and coveted but didn’t realize it’s at this level…

Love the fact that Laube gave it a 92 and said that it was okay for ‘short term cellaring’ . . .

maybe 180 cases made but they’re mostly gone by now

Pretty much the case for most 2003 and prior wines before the Estate vineyards came on line.

Since SQN has only been made since 1994, it’s possible to collect every wine they’ve ever made. I doubt that anyone buying wines from the 90’s intends to drink them.
