No Terra De Promissio this year?

Anyone got a good read on the Bucher or Weir pinots?

Would love to know how much the ‘buy full allotment’ is for the long time customers. That would be beyond my yearly Wine expenditures.

Terra de Promissio is in the spring release. Bucher is somewhat typical for Bucher with lots of earthy elements. Weir is awesome this year. One of my favorites of the release. And yes, we make a boatload of different wines. There are many good reasons for doing it this way, but as the saying goes, no one needs to know how the sausage is made. Enjoy!

Lol. I agree. Not nearly enough.
Good thing this is only 1 Of 2 releases in the year!

It would have been over 5K for “all in.”

Thanks!

Not as bad as I thought. Though, over my yearly budget still. Have enjoyed every Williams Selyem wine I’ve drank.

Nada.

Mine was only $2,180 for my full allocation.
I have been a long time buyer, just more selective the past few years and I often pass on the single vineyard Fall (is it Fall?) offering.

I’ve never had any of their wines but received the email after a friend suggested I join. I generally dislike buying blindly but is there a consensus on what would be a “good start?”

Not nearly as experienced with Williams Selyem as some others here, but based on your buying blind comment, I’d suggest passing this time around and buying the appellation wines in the winter. Fewer options and easier on the wallet to grab a couple to see if you like their style.

Winemaker Jeff Mangahas is extremely talented and can be trusted with Pinot, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. W-S controls fruit from some of California’s best vineyards. The appellation wines (Spring release) are excellent.

My focus has been on the Zins, and Pinots and Chards from Allen and Coastlands Vineyards. W-S is not inexpensive, but the wines (pretty much across the board) are very worthy.

Thanks guys I’ll dip my toes.

I visited them earlier this year and had some of the wines in this release. The 2018 Allen Pinot Noir was great. The Rochioli and WS Estate are always promising.

Haven’t had a chance to taste the 2018s yet, but decided to roll the dice on Calegari, Weir and Rochioli - seemed like a reasonably safe bet.

Rochioli is one of my favorites. Bucher too.

Which one would you think is most Burgundy Like (Mineral - softer - acidic)?

I have had a number of them but not all on that list.

Who do they think they are, Bedrock? [snort.gif]
