2019 Commission (was a 2018)
2019 Word Choice

Any thoughts?

I've bought a few of a a small number of a most of these wine access NDAs but not sure where I stand relative to DN (cheaper) or value in general. Frankly haven't drank many of the WA ones yet
I think Word Choice might be Sinegal. Based on a couple of the clues. Also, Sinegal makes a similarly priced wine, Details, so it could just be extra of that. Details is very good in 2018 by the way.

Details is from Sonoma so it can't be the source of Word Choice: https://detailswines.com/products/2019- ... -sauvignon

I agree that it is very good.

Have them all. The Rudi Pichler Smaragd Terrassen Wachau Austria is the best. I do like Smaragd.
K N Haque wrote: January 20th, 2022, 12:54 pm The Prager Hinter der Burg Grüner Veltliner is a really good if you like GV. IMHO it's better than the two other GVs up there right now. Unfortunately, the 2020 has gone up from to $35. The 2019 and 2018 were $30. I still regard the price as fair and if you can get it for $25 or less with discounts, that's killer QPR.

Is it possible to add a discount code to Wineaccess or is it all managed through the pre-applied Promotions?

Any take on source for Good Decisions?

The source estate is a tiny operation run by a massively talented husband-and-wife team. The husband trained with 100-point megastar winemakers Philippe Melka and Thomas Rivers Brown, adopting their go-for-broke chase for perfection in his own vineyard and cellar. The couple strives to make the best wine humanly possible—and only then do they turn to the business side.
In 2018, their auteur mindset resulted in a small run of Cabernet, but over the wild next two years, they had trouble selling all of it. For the 2019 vintage, we encouraged them to hedge their bets a bit: bottle half their production under their boutique label—and we’ll take the rest.

There is no space to add a discount code during checkout that I can see.

Yes it will be posted here, but minutes is now 'days' - likely posting on Monday, as the CEO wants to be around to answer questions directly as they arise, if they arise.

Too hot for me to receive wine.

Anyone confirm that WA will correctly hold shipment if I select an Oct delivery date?

The new shipping system is OK...not great. I dont like you only have 30 days. But you can make it work by choosing a fall ship date to then cherry pick wines.

I love Wine Spies system. Take your time to fill up the case free shipping. No 30 days on the clock. But you do have to get up to a case on Spies where Wine access you dont and only 150 bucks.

Wine Spies probably hates me taking up to 6-12 months to fill up a case....I mainly do their good pinot noirs which dont come up that often.

Wine Access kinda disguising raising their free shipping from 120 to 150...

You don't have to like the changes to WineAccess' shipping, but I disagree that Wine Spies policy is better. After all, if you think it is "kinda disgusting" to have a free shipping threshold of $150 for WineAccess, you have a much higher free shipping threshold at Wine Spies, especially if you are buying anything but bargain basement bottles. Suppose you are buying $30 bottle avg. I can buy 5 bottles at Wine Access at get free shipping with my $150 purchase. I'd have to spend $360 to get free shipping at Wine Spies (12 bottles @ $30). True, I would have longer free storage at Wine Spies, but, for me, that is not the issue.

Joe,

Is there any particular reason that the two (2) 2020 Oregon Pinot's available to me this morning on wine access do not disclose the wildfires from 2020? One of the bottles offered has been discussed in a recent thread and it's not a positive discussion. Thanks.

Are retailers really mentioning the possibility of wildfires when trying to sell wines? Presumably they aren't selling the wine if they don't believe it to be sound. I have no dog in this race but do find a lot of the sniping in this thread to be kind of odd. I haven't bought much from WA since the larger discounts stopped, to be honest, but in the past I found their satisfaction guarantee to be rock solid and super easy. If I was worried about something like wildfire, or any other quality concern for that matter, I'd worry less with WA than almost any other retailer, knowing that if I don't like it they'll make it right.

Any ideas on 2020 River and Vine? I am not sure if Calistoga was affected by the fires....

For those with a Wells Fargo points earning credit card, I came across the following in the Earn More Mall: "Earn 10 Bonus Pts/$1 on multiple purchases at Wine Access (up to max rewards of 2500 Bonus Points per transaction)." This offer should work multiple (probably numerous) times.

If you're not familiar with the Earn More Mall, this is where you activate offers (similar to Amex or Chase offers). Once you log in to your WF account and click on the Wells Fargo Rewards link in your account summary, you can access the Earn More Mall by hovering over Earn Rewards in the top right.

Enjoy!
