Wine pairing for Italian dinner with limited choices.

Any suggestions for wine pairing with the dish below? Was considering some prosecco, due to relatively limited selection, but curious to suggestions.

Grilled prosciutto, mozzarella, figs, pesto glaze

Also Second course is
Mushroom and asparagus gnocchi
Which I think I am going to pair with a Valpolicella.

Again very limited wine selection mostly american based.

Thanks in advance

Roero Arneis?

WHen I say limited , I mean no italian whites, except a pinot grigio.

its a country club with limited imported wine selection.

They Valpolicella was a new add.

Fiano di Avellino?

Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, something with some years on it

Are you asking for wine pairing recommendations from a restaurant list that you say is very limited, but then not providing the name of the restaurant or the list? I must be missing something…

Yes, you may be missing the point. What is your recommendation?

Did you read his second post, #3?

What’s the point of recommending something that the restaurant isn’t likely to have anyway?

It would be great to drink a Monfortino or a 1st growth bordeaux. Or if they don’t have imported wines, they must have a Dominus or maybe Screaming Eagle? Or if you’re looking for something cheaper, I’m sure they keep a stock of some board favorites like Rhys or Arnot Roberts?

I was looking for more style than wine.

Just tough when the menu is California cab dominated.

Appreciate the help

In a country club with a limited wine list?

Clearly we’d be more help with something like a number of connected items or names written or printed consecutively, typically one below the other…

If the only options are widely distributed CA Cab…Frogs Leap?

Ashish, It’s a subtle and playful point.

P.S. I am pretty sure that Markus is making the point very clearly, though one never knows for sure. [whistle.gif]

Went with Prosecco to start
Valpo with gnocchi and mushroom dish
And a 07 spring mountain cab with Tuscan ribeye

Best I could do given the limitations of the menu.

Still nobody understands what those “limitations” were…

Anyway, hope you enjoyed it.
