TN: 1999 Produttori del Barbaresco Rio Sordo Barbaresco

1999 Produttori del Barbaresco Rio Sordo Barbaresco

Stood up for 2 weeks and double-decanted to dump out a half-spoonful of sediment.
Sunday stay@home dinner of delicious Snake River Farms wagyu ribeye cap steaks.

Wine was deep scarlet red with orangish tint.
Blow-me-away expressive nebbiolo nose, menthol, floral.

Tannic, still young, acidic, long tongue-smacking finish. Defined components, with ample fruit layers, showed more and more as dinner progressed. Need bold-flavored foods at this stage. Excited about the prospects in about 10 years time. B+/A-

Huh, I am surprised that a Rio Sordo would still be notably tannic.

Yes, I didn’t quite put it the way I wanted to put it, which was the dry, fine, chalky stuff that I noted.
