TN: 2009 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echezeaux, Grand Cru

Bright and punchy from word go. Plenty of floral spice and sandalwood to the aroma. There is a core of ripe cherry and plum that has an almost primary feel to it. With air you get a hint of beef stock. It is a full and luscious Ech, with excellent depth and real energy. The finish fans out and is very long.

Great note Jeremy. I tasted the '09 DRC RSV maybe a couple months after I got them - what a winner. The '09 Tache a couple of years ago is a top tier burgundy now and for several decades into the future. It’s just my opinion about this but I think the '09s from DRC will be the best from the last 10-15yrs when it’s all said and done. CHEERS

Thanks. I have one, so will wait a little longer.

Are you finding many 2009 GC’s are ready to drink?

Most are still far too young Kirk. This DRC was delicious but with still plenty to reveal. Probably the most open-knit '09 GC I have had over the past 12 months is the 2009 Georges Lignier et Fils Clos St. Denis.

Jonathan. I reckon it is a very good red vintage full stop.
