Saddle soap and old varnish with underlying strawberry pie. The attack is initially stingy with restrained red-ish berry fruit. The flavors expand and broaden on the palate. There’re some green herbs if you search hard. No offensive pyrazines. Somewhat niggling tannins…rubbing and mildly drying. Nice finish after the tannins simmer down. Respectable drinking now but better days ahead IMHO. A number of 04s struck me as dried out and prematurely aged. The fruit is hanging in there with this one. You could do worse with the vintage.
