TN: 2018 Myriad Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Peterson Family (USA, California, Napa Valley)

Popped this Saturday morning and poured a glass. Left the bottle open and the glass on the counter all day. That wasn’t nearly enough time. Then the temps here rose to like 10,000° so it sat in the fridge for a few days then made appearances three nights in a row until tonight when it started to unwind. I can’t stress enough how much time this needs.

Boy this is an interesting wine. Opened it 6 days ago and it’s taken most of that time to really blossom.
It’s got a core of dark fruit and structure wound up in a big huge knot, but once it unwinds it explodes. Blackberry, black currant, anise, tobacco, tar wrapped in a chewy blanket of tannins. It really requires some patience though. Mikey makes a lay down wine?
Give this as long a decant as you can and then double it.

What glass are we working with there? Sophienwald?

I passed on this one, maybe I’ll regret it?
