TN: 2002 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne

  • 2002 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru (9/16/2020)
Opened and decanted two hours in advance and held at cellar temperature before serving (on screened back porch with a reversed-sear flannery strip finished on the grill!). Played “stump the dinner guest” and was pretty successful (he thought at first a chambolle, which made sense in light of how perfumed the wine was). Resolved tannins but fruit still youngish and delicious. Quite fragrant and lifted. Definitely worth the $88 (including shipping) I paid for it back in early 2005.

I was buying all the wrong things in 2005!

Good to see others weren’t.
