Dredging up an oldie. No previous TNs.
Been sipping on a 2014 Savino Nero Sichilli the last 2 nights. Floral, minerals, mild anise, dark fruited, ripish yet lively and balanced. Clean acidity. Pleasing finish. 13.5% abv. Tasty and intriguing. The vines are located within a nature reserve park a few hundred yards from the Mediterranean/Ionian Sea. Southeast corner of the island. It works equally well with white and red meats. My Nero d’Avola preference is for the Occhipinti Siccagno but I’d happily revisit this.
