Best Wine + Halloween Candy Pairings?

Halloween 2020 will be celebrated at home, no parties or trick-or-treating. Might as well experiment with some wine + candy pairings?

Looking for suggestions so I can get prepared…

Gamay + Red Vines
Merlot + Reese’s
Riesling + Sour Patch Kids

Candy Corn + buttery Chardonnay

That shavings of that pencil the one house gives you and Cabernet.
The tiny roll of pennies in any funked up wine.

Swedish fish and 2007 CdP “en magnum.”

Melo and whatever Anthony is drinking on Insta

Sherry + Abba Zabba

Hershey’s Kisses any red wine. The milk chocolate will negate virtually every negative and positive attribute, rendering Two Buck Chuck and '82 Latour equally delicious going down, then coming back out 30 minutes later. So, both contributing to and enhancing The Capistrano Effect.

Forget wine. Bourbon and Butterfinger is the go to pairing.

For the novelty, you should try Skrewball whisky if you haven’t yet.

Sounds like someone speaks from experience.

Scotch also goes well with chocolate. (Not milk chocolate, so not Butterfingers)

With any confection not including chocolate, I’d suggest pouring vodka over it, then after a decent time interval, pouring it down the drain.

Black Cat should go with pretty much anything that night.

I did a Bourbon and candy taste test one Halloween a few years ago. Butterfinger and Elmer T. Lee Bourbon was the clear winning match.

Ruby port and twizzlers.

Brown sugar bourbon + Golden Grahams
