TN: 2010 Bouchard Père et Fils Vosne-Romanée

  • 2010 Bouchard Père et Fils Vosne-Romanée - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée (10/12/2020)
This has blossomed beautifully in six years since my last bottle…still quite youthful and somewhat primary…but showing more Vosne spice notes of sandalwood, dried red licorice, white pepper, dried roses…still smooth as SILK texture, yet a solid mineral and crushed rock structure…very pretty wild red berry fruits…subtle sous bois, white mushroom earth tones starting to show…as well as that sneaky nuanced curry powder that I got on the first bottle. Lot of elegance yet restraint here…wish I had more bottles to age out another 10 or so years. Great wine! ps. is it true still only 100 cases imported of this wine? Seems low? (93 pts.)

Based on your note, this sounds and looks like an outstanding QPR. Wish I was drinking on tonight.

6 yrs ago I thought this at $50 wasn’t too good a qpr…but now I’m rethinking.

I’ve not seen the village VR, so expect this is a small cuvee. Good one. Was there wood signature evident?

fred

Correct.

Wood not evident…except maybe in the spice component. Not heavy at all.
