TN: 2010 Dehlinger Pinot Noir Goldridge Vineyard

White pepper, sweet tart cherry fruit and a little dusty fruit on the nose. Nice texture and some balancing acidity, but the palate is too dominated by the sweet tart fruit. The texture and some of the peppery aromatics remind me of why I used to buy Dehlinger regularly, but the overt sweetness reminds me of why I stopped around this vintage. Great people and great vineyards, but the wines took a turn after 2006 or so that didn’t match my preferences. Wine is fully resolved, no danger of falling off a cliff, but unlikely to improve.

I often find sweetness in older Pinot and it doesn’t delight me. I must say though, that recent vintages of Dehlinger Cabernet have blown my mind. IMO, your brush is too broad.
