A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. Three very impressive whites from Morgan. What he’s doing with SauvBlanc is probably as good as anybody in Calif.
Staves of Waidhofen refers to the tiny village of Waidhofen on the Northern border of Austria. This is where Franz Stockinger crafts his barrels, from a variety of oak sources in Europe. They are regarded as the RollsRoyce of oak cooperage, or the Stradivarius of oak barrels:
    Stockinger/Jancis
    Stockinger/Bibendum
The one Stockinger barrel I’ve seen is some of the finest craftmanship I’ve seen that puts that craftmanship of the W88 to shame. These barrels, very rare, are imported into the US by RajPaar and JaimeyMotley. I suspect they are frightfully expensive.
    Tom

Thanks for the notes Tom. I’ve always enjoyed all the Bedrock SB’s. Haven’t popped any of these yet

Great notes Tom, thanks. I’ve been saying for years (although not from the very start) that Morgan’s whites are underrated and that continues to be the case.

Yup…couldn’t agree more, Zach. Glad to see you’re still in the flock of TomHill sheep!!
Trust Will is doing well??
Tom

thanks for the notes Tom!

Im not sure what kind of time from to drink the Judge. hold for a while or drink it when the occasion arises?

Well, Matt. Guess I’d give it at least 3-4 more months and anytime after that. Whenever the occasion arises.
Tom

He’s great, thanks Tom. Hope you and Susan are doing well. I’m sure you’re both itching to travel.

I loved the ‘19 Judge. Went back for 6 more. Went through those and went back again to reload and it was all gone. They had ‘18 instead which I purchased but the ‘19 was a quite a few ticks higher on my appreciation scale.
