Got my first 2019 Napa save the date this morning (thanks Leah!) and was wondering if there are any early reviews of the 19s. The 18s were heralded from the get go but the 19s seem to be a lot quieter. Anyone with some insight?
Only thing I can remember hearing - i think - was that it’s like 15 — good but not great … smaller crop, high concentration but on the warmer side even for Napa. Could be way off but it sticks in my mind for some reason that 19 was like 15. If so, that’s fine by me. 15s are drinking well now when I want to grab a hedonistic style wine, and expecting most 16s and 18s (bought/buying heavily in both) to take a while. Went pretty light on 17, so it’ll be nice to have some that drink well early on.
