TN: 2008 Rhys Pinot Noir Skyline Vineyard

  • 2008 Rhys Pinot Noir Skyline Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (11/26/2020)
12.25% abv. Medium burgundy red, expressive aromatics. On the palate, raspberry compote, cherry and lots of complex Christmas spice. Excellent depth and length in a highly energetic, weightless package. Extremely poised and well balanced. Shows little signs of age, but hard to imagine it will get much better than this. One of the best Pinots I’ve tasted in a long time. Worth the wait! (97 pts.)

Couple of times I’ve had this recently, it indeed showed magnificently. 2008 was a superb year for Rhys.

hail corvain!

medium toned, medium bodied beauty. spruce, cinnamon, anisette and black cherry. Delicate but long palate. Tannins are soft but strong. i agree this is finally singing and resolved.
