TN: 1995 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac)

Excellent. Slight cloudyness as it is begining to show its age. Although I feel this is at it’s apex. Very beautiful nose of cherries, tobacco, cedar, a little funk, meat, nice purple flowers. Mature, complex and everything you’ld expect in a mature Bordeaux. The tannins are not overwhelming and the palate is just fine. If anything , it’s a little thin, but not austere. Still delicious and very easy drinking. Palate confirms the nose and finish is long 93-94. (93 pts.)

Likely my favorite property on Left Bank. Performs every year regardless of vintage. Love the trio of 1988-1990. Lynch-Bages a close 2nd.

Absolutely onAgree on PB and LB. but boy have prices skyrocketed

I talk myself into it since I don’t enjoy Mouton or Lafite much more than those 2 and they are a fraction of the price … Latour is on another level.

I do need to invest more in these, it stands up vs more expensive peers. Thanks for the note, made me reminisce.

Shhh!
