Is Gilman channeling Dr. Weinberg in his new article on cellaring Burgundy?

Who said the following?

“One of the things that I wish I had done more of when I was first building my own cellar is to have purchased more villages level bottlings in those early days.”

If you guessed John Gilman, you are correct! If you guessed alan, you are also correct!

I have always cellared lots of villages level bottlings, initially because that’s what I could afford from the CdN and later because I learned that it made sense to do so.

Great burg minds think alike.

What is Gilman’s pitch for cellaring village burgundy?

Was just reading through some of it. Given that lots of people here post on the Ramonet wines, why was Gilman blocked from visiting their cellars?

Opened a 2016 Hudelot-Noellat Bourgogne last night. Lovely wine drinking nicely now but I will cellar the remaining bottles and try one in 2 -3 years to see how it progresses. Quite structured.
