TN: Trio of Chablis

Dug into some recent arrivals from Garagiste.

2017 Denis Race 1er Mont de Milleu definitely shows the acid driven, mineral, citrus side of Chablis. Loads of lemon and green apple. Killer for $20.

2017 Denis Race 1er Montmains riper, rounder version that remains tamed by the vintage. Far from flabby, but missing the cut of the previous. What Chablis from Oregon would taste like living more in the fruit spectrum of pear vs. citrus. Nice to have different styles. Very good for $20.

2018 Vrignaud 1er Fourchaume definitely a different vintage just on the nose, green and yellow apple, good acidity, ripe vintage is evident as its generous with just enough lift to keep balance. Still very good for $19.

Can’t really ever have too much $20 Chablis. Would grab all again just for the variation and diversity.

Thank you for the notes - truly appreciated. Hope the 2017s are still available . . .

Hah! I ordered all three of these as well (also the '16 Race Montmains), though only the Vrignaud has been delivered. Thanks for the notes - looking forward to all of them!

$20 1er Chablis is pretty much an error proof purchase.
