TN: 2016 Camus-Bruchon - Savigny-lès-Beaune "Aux Grands Liards" Vieilles Vignes (France, Burgundy, Savigny-lès-Beaune)

2016 Domaine Camus-Bruchon & Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Grands Liards Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune (1/24/2021)
– decanted immediately before initial taste –
– tasted non-blind over approx. 3 hours –

NOSE: extremely tight; a touch savory; just not giving much at all ---- perhaps a faint blueberry/dark cherry combo.

BODY: light bodied; garnet-violet color of medium-light depth.

TASTE: thin; on the watery side; dried provencal herbs; not funky; medium+ to high acidity; seems shut-down; some drying tannins; alc. not noticeable; not showing well at all, really. If scoring as how this drank today, it would be in the low 80s. I’m hoping it blossoms with cellar time, and it’s my understanding this wine typically requires age, so there’s hope. HOLD.

This producer has been underwhelming in my experience.
