2009 Zilliken (Forstmeister Geltz) “Saarburger Rausch” Riesling Kabinett
Beautiful……….summer in the glass.
First you notice a very (!) juicy fruit based on ripe peach and ripe apricot. But the fruit is not clumsy or too big, thankfully a vivid acidity gives balance and freshness. Fair to say I am bit surprised that 2009 shows such a vivid acidity. Anyway this classic KABINETT fruit-acidity-play delivers a remarkable drinking pleasure and was a perfect match with Chinese pork belly red braised
I think this youthful Kabinett will show its true class in 5-10 years. On the other hand this Kabinett is such seductive now, who isn’t yearning for summer in these dark&cold times.
