TN: 2010 Seven of Hearts Lia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, Oregon

2010 Seven of Hearts Lia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, Oregon
Woodsy underbrush, baking spice and jammy red fruit. An extroverted sour cherry attack with allspice, strawberries and subtle briar fruit. Mild tannic tingle through the midpalate. Decent supporting acidity. The finish is gently rubbing with slightly drying tannins. I remember some new oak sticking out when young (especially on the nose) that’s now just a memory. An enjoyable and restrained effort showing no signs of slowing down.

I believe they stopped producing Seven of Hearts Lia’s Pinots several years ago? Back in the day, Bob Wood worked at the tasting room part time. I was in McMinnville for IPNC and he picked me up in his convertible for a quick jaunt up to Carlton to taste the lineup. Fun afternoon!
