Wine store burglary in NYC?

This seems a bit off to me. Does anyone know this store?

Is it a big Coravin dealer or something?

Plus wine/liquor stores were one of better retail areas in pandemic. Why close?

Plus it says 1000 bottles wines and 1000 bottles spirits. For $150K that’s an average of $75/bottle. But a quick look at inventory looks like typical “small liquor store” - lots of $15-20 bottles. Maybe some expensive whiskeys in there I missed.

from their website it looks like they were focusing on tasting events with the retail side as an add on to that. It makes sense that a business like that would close during the pandemic.

I find it hard to believe that average value of the bottles is $75.

Agreed. Though if they were selling to people drinking after a day’s work they might be marking up a lot more than most.

ALL of their property was taken? That seems unusual for a burglary. Given the prevalence of cameras and alarms that seems unlikely to have not been noticed/recorded by anyone.

Perhaps they are not current on their rent, and their landlord has decided to get some bargaining chips to enforce the lease?

The site lists a wide variety of red and white wines available, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, as well as champagne, Port and Sherry.

Must be the high end Pinot Grigio pushing that $75 average

I find it hard to believe that average value of the bottles is $75.

Not based on the Bordeaux Selections.

Probably left the Underwood in a can for $4.99
