VDP Rheingau auction - views?

I had an enjoyable afternoon watching the VDP Rheingau auction. Had to return to family life after the Weil Monte Vacano, so not sure what happened with the sweet wines. I was successful with quite a few of the Spätburgunders (Kloster Eberbach mostly).

The price levels seems very mild compared to the VDP Mosel and Nahe auctions. There were some exceptions (August Kesseler verticals and Weil Monte Vacano), but elsewise you could get quite some wine for small amounts. First time I bid for stuff without tasting prior and I fully relied on my great commissioner Agi Ress. This actually was his 50th auction!

It wasn’t very international friendly (all German) and there were some sound issues, but I enjoyed the experience. Apparently the real one (including food and ample tasting) is a blast, would love to participate there!

Did anyone else bid?
Keen to hear your views!

Living in the U.S. I never bid in offshore auctions. Too many complexities and a language gap for me.
