Light to medium gold color, youthful for 14 years. The aromas are lovely, fully mature but not typical Santa Cruz Mountains. There are hints of pear, roses in full bloom, a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is moderately rich, quite soft, almost voluptuous but slightly faded. The conifer and minerality I associate with SCM Chardonnay are not there, but this is still a lovely, tender glass with maybe a touch of oak showing at the end. Rated 88.5, probably a few points better a few years ago.
