TN 2014 Quilceda Creek CVR

A tasty Bordeaux Blend that leans towards the warmer climate end of New World style. At 7 yrs old, the color is bright purple, not a hint of bricking: looks as if it could have been bottled yesterday. The flavor profile is an interesting one- clearly New World in that is driven by fruit, but definitely lying between the rich black and blue fruits of Napa and the red fruits and earthiness of Bordeaux. There is both blueberry and cherry, menthol and tobacco. The wine rolls effortlessly around the palate and goes down with a lovely pleasant velvetiness. Not a hint of alcohol on the aftertaste. After two glasses though, I got up and the room was spinning! I checked the label and this is over 15%! Despite being a high ABV bruiser, this wine handles itself gracefully…this hides the alcohol well. Careful if you indulge in more than a glass.
