TN: 2009 Emrich-Schönleber Halenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs

2009 Emrich-Schönleber Halenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Nahe (4/18/2021)
#11-10, 13% abv. Perhaps a little softer than the previous bottles I’ve had, this is a wine that shows some fleshiness from the vintage. A bit of lemongrass and some sweet tropical fruit, with a very full and broad palate that seems to obscure the mineral/acid structure underneath it. Almost a touch sweet. I admit to being curious about how this wine will further evolve. Luckily I have plenty more. (93 pts.)

That breadth is a 2009 thing. The Donnhoff GGs have it as well

Emrich-Shonleber is my favorite Riesling producer, regardless of growing region. Simply fantastic. Not too much around though if you want to buy it.

That is going to change as Vom Boden is now their official U.S. importer for the majority of the U.S.

Case price.

Love the style of this wine, probably what I judge other GGs against.
