TN: 2019 Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Blanc

Drouhin is probably my go-to Burgundy house as far as size and production to quality ratio goes; I always appreciate when winemakers pay attention to their less “prestigious” cuvées, and this is no exception. One of my first experiences with 19s from bottle, and I think bodes well for the vintage after the more sedate and mellow 2018s.

Really inviting creamy lemon curd greets you on the nose, with an aura of vivacious freshness. Energetic and driven, with a nice weighty mouthfeel and a stony citrus finish. It’s just exceedingly well balanced; every vintage I tell myself I’m going to buy a case of these for guiltless drinking and this might just be the year I do it.
