TNs: NV Weingut Hermann Ludes Thörnicher Ritsch Riesling Auslese, 2018 Samuel Billaud Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Vieilles

A couple of the decent wines from this weekend.

2018 Samuel Billaud Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (5/8/2021)
Really lovely, drinking well now with a quick decant. Waves of sea air, oysters, and chalky-energy. A little hollow in the middle, it’s not a blockbuster and Hints of oak in the background. Bright and Lively. A real good match with homemade butter chicken. Great value, all things considered. [/list]

This stuff is really fantastic. A blend of 2010 and 2011. Why? I dunno- you’ll have to ask Lyle. Tropical fruits, hints of petrol and ripe melon. It’s fairly rich and sweet upfront, has just enough hit of acidity to keep things lively and refreshing. So tasty, it’s crushable on a warm afternoon. Faded some with time. just drink up and enjoy. Was quite tasty with kimchi-brined Korean fried chicken sandwiches.
