File this under wanted and expected more. One of the least interesting wines I have had in some time.

2018 Domaine Sylvain Pataille Marsannay - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Marsannay (5/16/2021)
Maybe it’s a 2018 thing, but this showed fruit forward, lower in acidity and was pretty straightforward jammy pinot. Lacked complexity. Nothing wrong, per se, but just nothing really to engage me in any introspection. Even at this level Pataille is usually stronger. Weird. At $50…it is such a hard pass I want to shake Pataille down and get my money back
