2016 Azienda Agricola Montevertine Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (5/23/2021)
A good healthy 6 hr decant. Although this seemed to be playing its cards close to the vest and being my first Montevertine, this did show plenty to confirm its reputation and that bright days are head for this bottle. Speaking of bright, awesome descriptor to define the fruit profile; bright black cherry with outstanding acidic cut. It does firm up in the middle with some touches of saddle leather on the back half. Very well balanced and just a sliver of wood. A very seductive Sangiovese even in these early days. (92 pts.)
