TN: 2018 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Chardonnay Arthur

  • 2018 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Chardonnay Arthur - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (6/12/2021)
A quick shout to an Oregon Chardonnay that has been produced since 1996. While there is so much good and exciting Chardonnay coming from this state in the last decade, I wanted to try an Arthur as according to CT, my last note was in 2008 on the 2006 vintage. Fun to see to the price hasn’t budget much - $23.95 back then, $28 today. Ok the wine. Really, really good. Strikes an impressive balance between rich oak spice (and to be 100% clear this is not a oaky chard by any means) and lovely green apple – with a smoky quality throughout. I loved the iodine and mineral thrust on the finish – so good with smoked king salmon. You can easily get this at Costco or your brick and mortar – it’s worth a check in if you, like me, have not had one in a long time. (92 pts.)
