TN: 2018 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay

The word that comes to mind over and over is elegance. It’s so wide-open right now; there is a beautiful and lush rose petal florality that encompasses the entire top band of the EQ spectrum. An underpinning of granite minerality begins to make itself known. Wet leaves intermingle with fresh cherries. It is one of the few restrained 2018 reds I’ve had thus far; the texture is already beautiful and silky, and the powdery tannins gird the structure just so.

A treat and a delight, especially after working the first weekend of restaurant service here in more than seven months.

Yum. Love Lafarge. Love Lafarge in '18.
