TN: 15 Ramonet Morgeot

opened for Buzz—he wasn’t here, but I was thinking of him—and the cork is perfect. The wine is too fat , nice texture and lemon, and good balance, but a bit blowsy. Not sure with first sips that I’d say “Burgundy,” but maybe it will tighten up w air. I’ll modify the note after the roast chicken dinner.

Air and chicken will help! Get that “domestic” palate of yours in gear!

Ramonet cheers to you Doc! [cheers.gif]

wine did indeed tighten up and show more acidity with time. Will let tj rest. Reminds me of 05 which also seemed fatter at first but tightened up in time.

The Vergers showed a very pleasing waxiness, especially room temp…brought out the spearmint, although faint…went well with the barrel spice. Enjoyed the whole bottle as the wife is under the weather!

I drank a 2018 Ruchottes recently. It reminded more of a Rhone white than a Burgundy at first with a slightly oily texture and blowsy fruit. It tightened up after 24 hours but still lacked the verve that Ramonet is famous for.
