TN: 2017 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Temperance Hill

Great find at a relative bargain on the list at Joel Palmer House. One of the best wines of our Willamette Valley trip.

  • 2017 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Temperance Hill - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (6/20/2021)
Clear, medium ruby color. Complex, shifting aromas of mushroom, exotic flowers, melted stone, sandalwood and pomegranate fruit. The palate is beautifully expressive with red fruit, floral high-tones and edgy mineral/earth notes. Exotic savory depth with refined density. Seamless, with round edges, vibrant acidity wrapped in a structure of fine tannins. Excellent length and depth.

It’s a terrific wine and great value. Had my first one 2 months ago and was my first Goodfellow Pinot. Really good now but will leave the rest alone for at least 3 years.

Good note. Only things missing in the descriptors were weightless and ethereal.

Great to hear. I think ‘17 is excellent and overlooked. My ‘17 Temperance is one of my favorites that I’ve made. This Goodfellow sounds terrific.
