TN: 2009 Clos Saint Fiacre Orleans

Found this lone bottle during a cellar reorganization (probably from Garagiste), so popped the cork this evening with Bristol Bay sockeye salmon. A surprise (thought it’d be OTH) and a revelation. Translucent light ruby in color, fragrance of sweet cherry, spice, and rocks burst from the glass. Light and soft on entry with gentle cherry fruit, but balancing acid and tannins on the back end. An absolutely lovely wine, drinking perfectly and likely at the end of its maturation window. For sheer pleasure (and value) I’d rate the wine at least a 92.
