2020 Kelley Fox Wines Willamette Blanc - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (7/26/2021)
It’s sort of with mixed emotions drinking this the other day. On one hand, it was a direct result of the fire in 2020 and the decision not bottle any designated pinots; on the other hand, we’ll use the Phoenix analogy so out of the fire came this charming and character filled wine. I think it’s 70% blanc de noirs and 30% chardonnay. Reading KF’s note on it hits it perfectly so I’m just going to cut and paste it off her site: “The nose smells of fresh oceanic air, sweet rain and minerals. There are touches of citrus, blossoms, and strawberry, and it is a solid white everyday table wine.’’ Well done. Well done.
