2018 Failla Gamay Noir Bjornson Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (10/15/2021)
Light as a feather. Sour cherries and hint of piths. Some stone, some chalk, with semi-drying fine tannins. Soft end, very elegant. Impressive outing. (92 pts.)

Thanx for the note. This wine sounds delicious.
Great TN. I only know the Vincent Bjornson Gamay, for which I would give a similar note, but describe it as having a tad more weight.
Just cracked the 2019 and it’s almost as good as the 2018, maybe a point less. A little more cassis and perfumed, perhaps. Still pretty primal, so can prob stand to hang out a little bit to find its inner self.
As an aside, I did try their other Gamay, from Eola-Amity Hills, and the Bjornson is far superior (in my humble opinion). Just loaded up on 6 more bottles. And for Failla, it’s actually pretty good value.
Gamay in Oregon might be their best varietal and I love the Pinot Noir.
I’ve had stunning bottles

Great note. Will keep an eye out for this. Like others my Bjornson Gamay experience has been limited to Vincent - who makes a great bottling - 2018 a few months ago was outstanding.
Cool note. Always great to see what others do with this fruit. Try GC’s version as well.
I enjoyed Ehren Jordan’s interview on the I’ll Drink to That podcast a few years ago. Several minutes in there on his experience with Bjornson. Great listening.
Still kicking on day 3 in fridge, pumped. Can’t say if I prefer it on first day or third, but extrapolation tells me that it will probably be best on 2nd day.
