TN: Clendenen Aligote & Viognier...(short/boring)

Tried these two last night:

  1. ClendenenFamilyVnyds Aligote LeBonClimatVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (EG; 12.5%) SantaMaria 2020: Med.light gold color; lightly floral/carnations/Aligote rather chalky/mineral/stony quite pretty perfumed nose; bit soft/rich slight tangy/metallic very light floral/carnations/Aligote light stony/chalky/mineral bit bland flavor; med.long soft/lush slight tangy/metallic light floral/carnations/Aligote slight chalky finish; speaks of Aligote but with a whisper; a bit soft/fat/bland on the palate & lacks the austere/bracing minerality one expects from Aligote; pleasant enough but just that. $18.00 (KK)

  1. ClendenenFamilyVnyds Viognier LeBonClimatVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (EG; 13.5%) 2017: Med.gold color; quite pleasant floral/pear/Viog/peach lightly spicy/herbal lovely nose; rather soft/lush some Viog/pear/peach/floral slight metallic/chalky pleasant if bland flavor; med. soft/lush light floral/pear/Viog/spicy pleasant finish; a bit on the soft/porky side & bordering on bland; a rather quiet expression of Viog. $18.00 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. These were two rather disappointing whites which lack grip & impact on the palate. Would like a bit more interest & impact on the palate. Quiet wines w/ not a lot of character.
