TN: 2014 Henschke Mt Edelstone Shiraz

This has long been a favourite and used to be a value play in the Henschke heirachy. No longer value unfortunately but it remains a distinctive and very high quality rendition.
Despite its youth really approachable. Mid-weight with a very distinctive Edelstone nose of soy and beef stock, sometimes I get a hint of smoked oysters, which sounds weird, but it really does smell great. On the palate it’s really refined and weaves savoury elements with the darker blue fruits. Delicious.
