TN: Doyard 2014 Clos de l’Abbaye Extra Brut

A very nice bottle of Champagne! Disgorged July 2020, 2.4g/l dosage. Second time with this bottling and it is drinking quite nice now, but it seems that some more years are needed to show at its best. A full bodied Champagne, with plenty of acidity, nice minerality, pinpoint bubbles, but a touch of bitterness and some oak on the finish. On the nose pretty wheat bread aromas, citrus, and some minty spice. Very powerful on the palate, with an extremely long finish. Needs time to mellow out, but with some kurobuta tonkatsu we made for dinner it did just fine!
