2006 Colgin Herb Lamb or Shafer HSS?

What bottle would you bring to a steakhouse dinner, where the other couple is bringing a 2006 Harlan?

TIA!

Tom

HSS

HSS. Less power and tannin, more elegant.

Thanks Kris and Mike.

Looks like it will be the Shafer HSS.

Now onto perusing BD13 . . .

The only Colgin Herb Lamb I’ve had (2005, I think) was lighter bodied, more nuanced, less plush and ripe than any Harlan or HSS I’ve ever had. I think the Colgin might be a nice counterpoint to the Harlan but its beauty and nuance might get lost lost next to a Harlan.
I drink HSS and it’s rare that it isn’t the richest, most dense wine of the night. I love HSS with 10+ years on them and the 2006 is drinking very well right now. Would love to taste that head-to-head with the Harlan- That’s the matchup I’d bring.
