TN: 2020 Keller Riesling Kabinett "Limestone"

Very young. Perhaps too young. But I was in the mood for something racy, and boy did this deliver. Very pale yellow in the glass. Super aromatic nose of crushed stones, atomized rocks, rainwater steaming off of hot pavement, a touch of that classic Riesling petrol. And what an experience in the mouth! Acidity is very high and the whole thing just zaps across the palate like a laser beam. There is so much youthful energy here. There are some fruit flavors present, mostly underripe white peach/nectarine, but this wine is not about fruit at all. It’s about the minerals, stones, freshness, acidity. The 10%ABV had me expecting sweetness, but it was barely there. Just enough to balance the bracing acidity. Kind of like a Champagne dosage. What a pleasure this is. It will improve for years to come, and keep for 15 years at least.
