Bottled in June of 2009, this wine is showing very well.
A bouquet of dark cherry, plum, and cassis. The nose follows to the palate where it is joined by some nice baking spices. Medium-full bodied, with a lush, long and lingering finish.
Served alongside a gorgeous NY Sirloin purchased at farmer’s market from the farm who raised the animal. Some porcini/truffle risotto and roasted sweet asparagus finished off a terrific meal.
This gets the “Merrill wishes she had made this wine” designation.
