TN: 2016 Monte Bernardi Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT

A beautiful red fruited nose with licorice, cedar, and cured meats, but what takes the center stage is the florals. Much more so than my last couple bottles. Midweighted and graceful on the palate with more red fruits, spice, licorice, and roses. Texturally, this has a pretty seamless, harmonious overall feel. Supple, yet not soft, with excellent balance of fruit, acid, and soil. More red fruits, spice, licorice, and florals on the palate. There are some savory cured meat and cedar notes, but they play a supporting role to the terrific red fruited and perfumed overall mode. Finishes with ripe fine tannins and lovely perfume. I love this style of Sangiovese. Understated and beautiful. Impressive. (92 pts.)
