TN: 2008 Turley Zinfandel Juvenile (USA, California)

  • 2008 Turley Zinfandel Juvenile - USA, California (1/29/2011)
Popped on a Friday night, finished on Saturday evening. Had more going on on Day 1 with ripe black and red fruit, medium acidity, Turley spice and a moderate finish that really hid the alcohol. Tonight the spiciness has faded and the fruit has become a bit gloppy (is that a word?) Still a decent drink but it was classic Turley on day 1 with bbq baby backs and just an OK wine on day 2 with a keyboard as an accompniment. Kind of a disappointment for me though.

Had this last night. Generally not a Turley fan fwiw… popped, poured, drank over a couple of hours…a smooth drink, agree on not really noticing any heat…all and all found it kind of boring… [bleh.gif]

I still get bit by the Turley bug, I get excited when I see it on the shelves. I’ll buy just about any bottling aside from this one. Even when you can find it priced fairly ~$20, it’s just not worth it.

I thought the 2007 Juvenile was quite good on release – much better than 2004, 2005, and 2006. I haven’t tried the 2008 yet.
