Interesting, never had that happen. Always received what I purchased. Did you contact someone at LBW?

That's weird. None of my marathon orders have gotten screwed up, but I can see how it could happen.

Was short one bottle on a marathon order -- and impulse buy that I lost track of. They contacted me and sent it about a week later free of charge

Is LB run by Garagiste, who deliberately sends you shit you didn't order and charges you for it?

No, I didn't contact them. Like I said, they weren't expensive bottles so it didn't seem worth it. It certainly wouldn't be worth the hassle of shipping the three errant/substitute(?) bottles back from NY state. I tried that once or twice before and it was a big headache. I'll just keep what I got and hope for the best with the 'surprise' bottles.

Not sure if you are serious, but no, no. I haven't placed many orders but they seem very reasonable, good communication. They oversold one of the marathon offers last year and had to cut back my order, but they offered a little store credit to help ease the pain. Seem like good guys

BTW saw the Grochau offer and am tempted althoug I absolutely don't need any more wine

Peter, why is this a buy? Pretty average cellartracker scores across multiple vintages, and 2009 wasn't great in Oregon.

I was looking for Jim Anderson's comments on the vintages, but could not locate the thread. And I do not need any more wine. [snort.gif]
OK found the recs in his offer thread and '09 is non AFWE so I will pass

2009 is not an AFWE vintage, but Grochau is an AFWE winemaker in the manner of Matello, who he shares space with.
Marcus will vouch for him, and so will Todd Hamina.
You can't take everything you read in CT at face value.

I'm sure that Jim Anderson will agree that in the trio of hot years '03, '06, and '09, winemakers handled what nature delivered successively better each time. By '09 the ones not going for California style had it dialed in pretty well. Hard core AFWE may not agree.

I bit on the Grochau Pinot Noir. Needed some daily drinkers for 2016. I'll taste one when I get it and decide if I think I should cellar for a couple years or drink now.

The 2009 Dashe Zinfandel Todd Brothers Ranch arrived Thursday -- popped and poured with pizza- a nice daily drinker purple fruit, good acidity, not overly oaked. If I hadn't hit the complete order button twice waiting on a slow computer, I would definitely look for more the next marathon

The T-Vine offer up now is quite good in my opinion. I jumped in on four, we tried this at their new tasting room in December and really enjoyed it.

Dunno about the T-Vine PS, but last week cracked a bottle of 2009 T-Vine Cellars Zinfandel Frediani Vineyard. It was tasty but nondescript. In a blind tasting, I would never have guess it was a Zin.

I had and purchased their Zin from Black-Sears and it was quite amazing. I have to look at our notes from our visit on the Frediani Zin if we tasted it. Personally, I enjoy their wines.

I grabbed some.

I even got a text from a friend that this wine was up!

Haven't had it before, so I am excited!

I bought 4 of the Hacienda Monasterio Ribera del Duero 2010 so I could expand my range a little, too.

Did a sixer of the Idilicum Brut Cava to use as a mixer for sparkling wine cocktails.

Side note: During the marathon, I purchased some lots and didn't unpack until last week. One of the wines was missing. I contacted Last Bottle and told them what up and they credited me for the purchase. They treated me great, took me at my word, and made me feel like a million bucks as a customer. All three of my thumbs are up for last Bottle!

I had the same experience, but IMO, it would have been better service to inform customers that they could not fulfill the order rather than expecting the customer to catch the mistake.

Last night we killed two bottles of the Hacienda Monasterio Ribera del Duero 2010. It was fantastic.

The Brewer Clifton chard was fine, as well.

A friend brought two wines he had recently purchased from that site, as well – it was Last Bottle night!

Thanks to this place for making me aware of Last Bottle.

That's a good way to describe it. Much more palatable at $29 than at $62, but how that winery gets away with their prices when they don't spend a cent on new oak boggles my mind.

Recently had the '07 T-Vine Frediani Petite Sirah twice, first bottle was just ok, no big fruit, but second was a beast and delicious so there is some bottle variation there. I have a few more, they won't last long. LBW is the devil.

Nice single vineyard Ravenswood (2009 Big River) on now for $25

I'm in for two bottles (couldn't get 4, as I'm expecting my Scherrer OMV Zin soon, too). Full disclosure: Link above gets me, and you, credit if you are a first time buyer.
Apparently I'm lazy, have a narrow agenda, and offer little in the way of content and substance (RMP) (and have a "penchant for gossip" -KBI)

I bought a bottle of Ravenswood Big River at Costco to try-decent but nothing special for moi. I'm not sure if it was 09 or not.
Immaturity-my life, not my wine.
