Wouldn't de negoce at ~$10 a bottle be a better house wine. 4 bottles vs a case for the same price ...

De negoce has completely distorted what I think a house / party / IDGAF wine should be and cost. Until or course we taste the ones we bought and they're complete 💩

Yah Vince. It really comes down to whether we wasted $ on undrinkable wine. I feel confident we won't.

Until I see an offer from de Negoce under 15% ABV, we'll be passing on those wines. [bleh.gif]

I think we pretty confidently figured out who the PN was from and weren't interested. I thought all the Cabs were over 15%, or at least close to it, and had gobs of new oak listed in the tech details. No thanks. :D

Pinged LastBottle about my marathon shipment and then got a fedex notice that it was shipped. Now I am concerned about the temps and am tracking the temperature at the various fedex locations. They said to let them know if there are any heat related issues.

What is the best way to tell if the wine is heat damaged? I have some grand cru burgundy in there I was hoping to hang on to for a while.

Evening Land Brasserie 19 Chardonnay Eola Amity Hills 2016 for $16.

"Is this the same wine as the 93-pointer Evening Land Seven Springs ‘16 Chardonnay but with a different label? We don’t know" is some very Rimmerman-like text. Anyone know the back story here?

I'd seen this advertised by Vinopolis recently, saying that they couldn't reveal the vineyard source. Might be seven springs fruit, might not, but that's a low risk price. CT had only one note on the chardonnay (very positive) and a few notes on it's pinot noir counterpart (also rather positive). Grabbed six.

A lot of discount sites are offering B19 Pinot and Chardonnay.
The Garagiste on the Pinot stated 100% seven spring vineyards. That's as much as I've seen. Possibly private label of the $30 Seven Spring bottles they do or the Salem Wine Company bottle they do.

I signed up for the de Negoce email. How often to offers come out? Sounds like you have to buy a case. Maybe I will give it a flyer.

update: got an email today...so I see how it works. thanks. A case of one wine is not my style but I might try..

Fun wine on Last Bottle today. I was able to try this a few months back (this is the first release) and it is so easy to drink. Perfect for this warmer weather. More rosé than rosé sparkling, so it’s quite unique. Keep it cold.

As an additional note, this producer will be releasing some vintage sparklers next year. Big name vineyards and some big names behind making it.

Current offer is 17 Jigar PN Graham. $24 for RRV pinot, I'll give it a shot. Temps in the high 70's so I'll take a chance on shipping.

I have. You can actually tell if they have less than 36 bottles remaining by putting the max in your cart. If it autocorrects to a lower number, that is what they have left.

The 2016 Buena Vista is one of the best value cabs I've encountered. Considering getting some; the lowest price of 750's is around $32

I never received an offer for the 2018, but the previous vintages were $50. Strange that the 2018 appears on FirstBottle and not from Caterwaul directly.

Yeap very strange but given that the 2018 vintage was plentiful and our state of economy maybe it should not be surprising.

From a CellarTracker post: "Récoltant is a collaboration of declassified barrels of premium Cabernet that didn’t quite fit into Le Pich or Purlieu. The final blend was stitched together from several celebrated regions throughout Napa Valley, & Julian Fayard made the wine with the same standards of excellence that he practices in all of his projects.”

I interpret that as being a step down from the Le Pich bottling which normally retails around $50. Most likely wine they barreled that either did not fit the flavor profile of the other Purlieu/Le Pich bottlings or was of a bit lesser quality. For $29 its probably priced reasonably.

I LOVE this wine. It seems to be available on pretty much all the discount sites, all for about $30 or so. Its a classic Napa Cab, tons of dark fruit and chocolate. Well integrated tannin, and it drinks extremely smooth. In for a case.

Anyone have experience with the current First Bottle offer? Looks like the bottling itself is only in its 2nd year, but more interested in the producer if anyone has any info.

Today’s Stewart Cab has my attention. Debating on how many bottles.

Wow - huge difference in price. Is black tie reputable? I've never heard of them.
Me neither. Found the link at Wine-Searcher.

That's gotta be a typo...almost every other shop is $50+ for it and a there are a couple of $38 listings. That said, wonder what would happen if you actually bought it

Stewart is a good buy at $30, more new style Cabernet, which we are fans of.

I am betting that price is not accurate.
